Took my Mum here for a cream tea and she had toasted tea cakes. Fabulous service and the food arrived promptly. Delicious scones, jam and of course the famous clotted cream, didn't waste a morsel :), so tasty and they gave us an extra pot of tea to wash it down. Beautiful building and surroundings. We will be back!!
As I entered the building I was immediately impressed, not only by the foyer but by the warm and professional greeting we received from the receptionists. After seeing the ballroom (with its own bar and terrace) and how gorgeous the rooms were I knew that this was the venue for us. Everything was tailored perfectly to our wants and needs - and I hadn’t imagined that we’d be able to have such a wonderful wedding on our strict budget. On the day the room was set up beautifully, the table plans and decorations and (complimentary) flowers set up exactly as we’d asked. The service and food was absolutely faultless - canapés and bubbly on entrance and then seated for the wedding breakfast at 1. But what really made it so special was the fantastic service from Tamsyn and the team; they went above and beyond. No request was too big or too small for Tamsyn (even from holding back on a course for some late guests to arrive... to repairing my daughters shoe!) All the staff in the hotel were excellent, from room service through to management. I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank everyone for making our wedding day (and stay at the hotel) such a memorable and special day!
I cannot praise Tamsyn and the wonderful team who catered for our wedding reception enough. They were all fantastic, from check in to check out the whole wedding day was brilliant , all the staff were on the go from morning to night all with a smile and time for all guests including the children who were present. Food was excellent we held our reception in the ballroom so had the use of upstairs bar and covered terrace this was ideal as the weather was ideal for sitting outside well done all round!
Accidental but Lucky Discovery... Because the steam train to Dartmouth had broken down, our party of ten spent last Saturday in Totnes, and discovered the Seven Stars at lunchtime. What a find... although the place was heaving, a charming lady laid up a lovely side room for us, we were made so welcome, and the food was delicious. We have definite intentions of returning for a longer stay to this characterful pub/hotel (but hopefully minus the snow this time....)
We shared a ploughman’s platter with some delicious chunky chips for a light lunch. There was a great selection of ham, pork pie, bread, homemade coleslaw (naughty but so nice) and salads. The staff were very polite and helpful. We sat outside and people watched. Totnes is always interesting and we were not disappointed!
I had the great pleasure to stay in the Agatha Christie suite of the best hotel in Totnes. It is central, it is quirky, it is beautiful and I loved it. The room was very large and the bathroom was super. Awesome and huge breakfast. The entire staff should be commended. I loved Totnes. Please go walk the ground of Dartington - it is one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure to visit. GREAT TRIP!
